Privacy policy

This page explains what data the Bavunio app collects, why, how long we keep it and how to delete it.

What we collect

• Account and device identifiers: on first launch we create a temporary account and a random installation ID so your progress can be saved and synced.
• Email and name: when you sign in with email, Google or Apple we store the email and name the provider sends, and the display name you choose in the app.
• Learning progress: the courses you study, lesson and exercise results, mastery levels and your review queue.
• Diagnostics: device model, OS version, app version and time zone, used to fix bugs and support devices.

How we use it

We use this data only to run the app: keep your account and progress, sync between your devices, send sign-in codes to your email, protect the account and fix bugs.

We do not track you across other apps or websites, we do not sell your data, and the current version shows no ads.

Who can access it

• Our servers, rented from a hosting provider, which store the data and send our email.
• Google and Apple when you choose to sign in with them, under their own policies.

Retention and deletion

We keep account data while the account exists. You can delete your account in the app: Profile, then Settings, then Delete account. The account and all its data are deleted permanently after 30 days; signing in to it during that time cancels the deletion. On deletion we also revoke Sign in with Apple access. Website and waitlist

• Waitlist: if you join it, we store your email, your phone type (iPhone or Android), your country if you choose one, and the page language, only to write to you once at launch. We first send a confirmation email, and delete unconfirmed addresses after 7 days. Unsubscribing from any email deletes your data from the list at once.
• Website: the site uses no cookies and no analytics or tracking tools. Your theme choice (light or dark) is stored only in your browser.
• Contact form: we store the topic, your name if you give one, your email and the message to answer you, and delete messages after 12 months.
• Server logs: our servers log the IP address and browser type of each request to protect the site; the logs are deleted after 14 days.

Children

If you are under 13, or under the minimum age in your country, use Bavunio with a parent’s permission.
